Diagnostic Radiology Center
"Accurate diagnosis is the heart of exceptional medical care, enhancing patients' quality of life throughout their treatment journey."
MedPark Hospital is known for its expertise in treating complex diseases. We are committed to providing timely, accurate, and precise diagnoses through thorough preparation during the investigation and diagnostic stages. At the forefront of this process is our Diagnostic Radiology Center, which provides fast and accurate diagnostic insights, forming the foundation for effective, personalized treatment plans crafted to meet each patient's specific needs.
Why the Diagnostic Radiology Center at MedPark?
- Our diagnostic services are performed by a dedicated team of radiologists, radiologic technologists, and registered nurses, utilizing advanced radiologic equipment built for safety and precision. Leveraging their expertise in operating advanced imaging technologies, our team consistently delivers high-quality imaging essential for accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic reporting 24/7.
- Our team collaborates with attending physicians, working in tandem on radiologic interpretation, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment planning. Through joint consultations and integration with other diagnostic disciplines, we ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care, maximizing treatment effectiveness for each patient.
- We carefully consider every detail that may offer insight into the patient’s condition, combining data from radiologic findings, clinical information, and a comprehensive patient history. We use collaborative reviews, particularly in comparing radiologic images with other investigative methods, to improve diagnostic accuracy and help choose the best treatment plan for each patient.
- Our facility is outfitted with cutting-edge digital diagnostic radiology technology, significantly enhancing the speed and precision of disease diagnosis. This advanced digital system ensures more efficient and highly accurate diagnostic results.
- The design of MedPark's Radiology Diagnostic Center was meticulous, with valuable input from physicians who worked closely with the architectural team to shape the concept, optimize functional space, and strategically position radiologic equipment in all key departments, including the Emergency Department and Health Screening Center. These enhance convenience and accessibility for all patients.
- In addition to the high-performance imaging equipment in the Diagnostic Radiology Center on the 6th floor and the Health Screening Center on the 7th floor, MedPark Hospital has also installed advanced ultrasound and highly efficient computed tomography (CT) scanners in the Emergency Department. This strategic placement allows immediate access to these critical tools, significantly reducing waiting times and enabling timely life-saving interventions during life-threatening moments.
Tests and Procedures
- General X-ray is a diagnostic imaging technique that utilizes X-rays to create images of the internal structures of the body, particularly organs with varying tissue densities, such as bones and internal organs. This method is effective in diagnosing various conditions, including:
- Detecting bone fractures and hairline cracks
- Evaluating the size and shape of organs such as the lungs or heart
- Monitoring the progress of treatment or postoperative surgical evaluation
- Computed Tomography (CT) is a versatile imaging technique that can assess various conditions throughout the body, including the brain, bones, lymphatic system, blood vessels, coronary arteries, and thoracic and abdominal internal organs. Key applications include:
- Screening for lung cancer
- Assessing the size and location of tumors in various organs
- Detecting the spread of tumors to nearby lymph nodes
- Identifying fractures, dislocations, or inflammation in bones and joints
- Evaluating vascular abnormalities such as aneurysms or blockages
- Detect blood in the brain, abdominal cavity, and pelvis.
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a precise diagnostic tool that identifies diseases and abnormalities in various organs with strong magnetic fields. MRI can effectively evaluate:
- Conditions related to the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, such as cerebral artery stenosis, dementia, stroke, paralysis, and chronic headaches
- Conditions associated with muscles, tendons, bones, and joints, including sports-related injuries, osteoarthritis, spinal degeneration, nerve compression, and chronic back pain
- Vascular issues such as arterial blockages and aneurysms
- Problems concerning abdominal organs, including tumors, kidney stones, and abnormalities of the liver, uterus, and prostate
- Ultrasound imaging employs high-frequency sound waves for the diagnosis and detection of abnormalities in tissues and internal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder, breasts, uterus, ovaries, the pelvic region, thyroid gland, blood vessels, and heart valves.
- The Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scanner assesses bone mineral density (BMD) in the lumbar spine, femur, and distal forearm, aiding in osteoporosis diagnosis and risk evaluation for predicting future fracture likelihood.
Furthermore, the DEXA scanner accurately measures body composition, including fat and muscle mass. Abdominal visceral fat levels correlate with the risk of cardiovascular diseases, while muscle mass measurements help identify sarcopenia, a condition characterized by decreased muscle mass. Sarcopenia increases the risk of falls and can impede recovery following illness or surgery.
