Preparing the documents
- If you are a new patient at Med Park Hospital, please prepare an original passport or ID card for verification at G Floor, registration counter, 30 minutes before the appointment time.
- Please bring along any examination results or reports you have for the doctor to review if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
Services that we offer:
- Valet Parking at G Floor from 8.00 a.m. If you prefer parking the car by yourself, you can do so on the 3rd floor.
- Checkup clothing, slippers, shoes for the Exercise Stress Test (EST)
- Water, snack, and a coupon for food after the checkup
Preparing for a health checkup
- Do not eat or drink anything for 8-12 hours before the checkup. (If thirsty, sip a little water)
- Please do not drink alcohol at least 24 hours before the checkup as it could affect the result of some tests.
- Get an adequate amount of sleep, at least 6-8 hours before the checkup. An inadequate amount of sleep could lead to abnormal results, for example, blood pressure, heartbeat, and body temperature.
- If you take medicine for high blood pressure, you can continue taking it as per the doctor’s prescription and please inform the doctor or the nurse before the checkup.
- Avoid undergoing medical checkup during menstrual period (Urine analysis can not be tested during menstrual period)
- In the pelvic examination and breast cancer screening with a Mammogram, the patient should undergo the examination 7 days after the menstruation.
- If the patient suspects pregnancy, please inform the doctor or the nurse to refrain from undergoing the X-ray examination.
What to wear
- Wear comfortable clothing for examination and blood testing, such as a short sleeves shirt or a shirt that can roll up sleeves.
- Avoid wearing metal accessories.
- In undergoing an Exercise Stress Test (EST), you can bring your own shoes and sports clothing instead of using the hospital's clothing.
Preparation Instructions for Exercise Stress Test (EST)
- Avoid fatty foods, caffeine, and alcohol before the Exercise Stress Test.
- If you have symptoms of chest pain or breathing difficulty, please inform the nurse before the examination.
Preparation Instructions for Ultrasound Whole Abdomen
- Before the examination, you should drink water, so the bladder remains full to receive an optimal examination result.
Urine and stool collection
- Urine and stool should be collected on the checkup day, in which there will be nurses to recommend storage methods for examination.
- If a stool sample cannot be submitted on the day of the health checkup. You can collect a stool sample and bring it back to the Health Screening Center, MedPark Hospital. If you wish to collect a stool sample from home.
If the patient prefers collecting stool from home, please follow the instructions below:
- Prepare a clean screw-top container.
- Prepare a spatula for the stool; it should be a wooden spatula or disposable plastic spoon.
- Always wash your hand before and after the stool collection, as the stool is the disease transmission source.
- The patient should urinate before collecting the stool to prevent urine contamination, affecting the stool examination results.
- Defecate into a dry and clean plastic bag, or you can wrap the plastic on the toilet bowl to prevent the stool sample from being contaminated with water.
- Use a wooden spatula or plastic spoon to scoop a fingertip size amount of the stool.
- Collect only the stool sample into the container with a screw-top lid, be cautious not to contaminate the stool with soap or tissue papers.
- Write down a first name, last name, and date of birth on the sticker or the paper along with the sample.
Cautions
- Stool samples collected at home should be delivered to the Health Screening Center, MedPark Hospital within no more than two hours after the sample collection.
- In case of there is a need to store the sample in the refrigerator. It should be stored in the regular refrigerator compartment, not the freezer, to prevent it from affecting the results.
How to submit a stool sample
- Submit the sample at Health Screening Center, MedPark Hospital, 5th Floor, Counter C (East Lift) every day during service hours: 7.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
- The laboratory analysis takes approximately 2 hours. To prevent the delay in the doctor's examination, the patient should arrive before 1.00 p.m.
