To ensure both patients and our contracted partners have accurate estimates of hospital treatment costs, helping them to predict the total amount due. In cases involving insurance companies or contracted partners, our pricing officer must provide detailed cost estimates for procedures, seeking pre-authorization from the relevant company before the patient undergoes the procedure. This includes verifying all medical expenses against the doctor's orders. We will accurately assess the costs, coordinating with doctors and nurses to review the doctor's orders and input the final cost estimate into our hospital information system (HIS).
Responsibilities:
- To provide patients who contact us directly each day, either by email or phone, with estimated costs for their treatment.
- To provide insurance companies or contracted partners with estimated treatment costs to facilitate their approval of coverage.
- To verify the actual charges for patient procedures by comparing the billing data in our hospital information system (HIS) with the original cost estimates.
- Collect data on patients whose actual medical bills deviate from the initial cost estimates, and conduct an analysis to determine the root causes of these discrepancies.
- Collaborate with doctors and nurses to gather information for cost estimation. Develop cost estimates for pre-admission, in-hospital treatment, and post-discharge care.
- Track and collect actual cost data for surgical procedures.
- Develop a pricing guideline for various service points based on the assigned tasks.
