MedPark Hospital welcomed health experts from
the World Health Organization (WHO)
to evaluate its health security
performance.

WHO visited and reviewed the cooperation between private and public hospitals at MedPark Hospital.

Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention (IUDCP) was assessed for its compliance with International Health Regulations (IHR) - Joint External Evaluation (JEE).

The Department of Disease Control, headed by Dr Chawetsan Namwat, Director of the Disease Control Division and Public Health Emergency and staff welcomed and escorted the assessor committee to the observational area to evaluate the country’s health security capacity in accordance with IHR (2005) Monitoring and Evaluation’s second step of Joint External Evaluation (JEE) on October 31, 2022.

The assessor committee arrived at MedPark Hospital, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok to inspect the cooperation between private and public hospitals presented by Dr Pongpat Patanvanich, Managing Director of MedPark Hospital. The committee observed the hospital's service system including COVID-19 patient screening procedures, inpatient care, and COVID-19 vaccination for the public including young children.

Thailand has adopted the revised International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 and requested a Joint External Evaluation (JEE). This demonstrates its regional leadership in various fields. The assessment of the country’s IHR compliance will reveal Thailand’s health security capacity upon the surveillance, control, and prevention of disease. This is to improve its public health care capability to meet the standard of IHR and reduce the risk of epidemics and health hazards for Thai people.
