Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Interpreter to join our team. This position will play a critical role in facilitating communication between patients, nurses, and physicians in a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing simultaneous interpretation services in Thai and Burmese languages, while adhering to hospital policies and maintaining patient confidentiality. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in simultaneous interpretation between patients, nurses, and physicians.
  • Ensure a smooth check-in process, assisting with necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Escort patients to designated areas and provide assistance as needed.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly, maintaining a patient-centered approach.
  • Keep a vigilant eye on patients' well-being throughout their visit, anticipating and addressing any discomfort or needs.
  • Provide physical and emotional support, creating a reassuring and comfortable environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, explaining procedures and offering clear instructions.
  • Be familiar with emergency protocols and respond promptly and appropriately in case of emergencies.
  • Provide basic information and education to patients about their visit, procedures, and any post-visit instructions.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills in Thai and Burmese languages with knowledge in medical terminology and procedures.
  • At least 3 years experience in a healthcare or patient care setting is an asset.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Pleasant personality and ability to work flexible shifts.
