MedPark Hospital - Best Hospitals in Thailand

MedPark Hospital is honored to be named one of Thailand’s best hospitals for the second year in a row by Newsweek—a prestigious US weekly news magazine and the world leader in the ranking of hospitals—in the first and second full years of operation, after the hospital inauguration on Oct. 1, 2020, attesting to its caliber in the delivery of quality, value-based care, the crucial attributes in being recognized as one of the World’s best hospitals. This swift meteoric ascendancy in its early operational phase to join the rank of the best hospitals in Thailand is remarkable and unprecedented, especially for a greenfield hospital like MedPark that opened its door amid the tumultuous Covid-19 pandemic. As a member of the pantheon of best hospitals, the award reflects MedPark Hospital standing at the forefront of adopting innovation to address new challenges with a commitment to delivering high-quality and empathetic patient cares.

The ranking methodology consisted of an online survey of doctors and medical experts to rank hospitals in 28 countries across the globe, including 2,200 hospitals in Thailand, in the following 11 specialties: cardiac surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, pulmonology, and urology; adoption of integrated AI, digital imaging, telemedicine, robotics, and electronic functionalities.

Newsweek, in partnership with Statista Inc.—the world’s leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider—developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking; rankings are determined based on the following four data source inputs:

  • Hospital recommendations from medical experts: an international online survey sent to more than 80,000 expert healthcare providers.
  • Patient Experience: Patient hospitalization satisfaction surveys conducted by insurance companies.
  • Patient-Reported Outcome Measures: Surveys measuring patient perceptions of the impact of health care service on their health status.
  • Hospital quality metrics include care quality, patient safety, hygiene measures, waiting times, and treatment qualities.
